Sophia Babai (she/they) is a queer Tanzanian-Iranian-Indian-American author, creativity coach, and somatic therapist. Their writing has appeared in The New York Times, Autostraddle Magazine, and the anthologies BODY TALK and ENVY OF BIRDS. As an editor and creativity coach, they have worked on over fifty sci-fi fantasy novels, including six New York Times bestsellers.
Sophia previously worked as a climate activist, supporting communities displaced by pipelines and power plants. She studied human rights and colonial/post-colonial literature at Yale University and is currently a Gotham Writers Workshop Fellow in New York City.
